Wednesday night nursery volunteer

Ministry Description:
Serve our guests, teachers, and young parents by caring for nursery-aged (birth to 2nd birthday) children on Wednesday nights.
Time requirements:
Wednesday nights, 6:15 (when children start arriving) until all nursery attenders have been checked out (approx. 7:50). This is a one-month on, one-month off rotation.
Volunteer characteristics & gifting:
Experience with babies, attentiveness to children’s needs, and the ability to lift/carry up to 35 pounds safely is required. A calm and comforting/nurturing presence is desired.

Wednesday night Grade 1-3 Helper

Ministry Description:
This position is a ministry and blessing to our Wednesday night 1st-3rd grade kids and teacher too! Whether it is lesson, craft, or game time, you are there to take care of child-needs and teacher-directed details so the teacher can focus on God’s call to him/her – teaching! Have the fun of loving on kids and helping them learn without additional time and preparation – a win-win for everyone!
Time requirements:

Children's Ministry Buddy

Ministry Description:
Minister to kids who just need a little extra help or to have a friend! Whether it’s a guest child who is intimidated by a new environment, a child who needs a little extra attention to guide behavior, or help with physical or social limitations, we have opportunities for you to serve in one-on-one time with a child. Your attention helps the child, the teacher, and the rest of the class to keep their focus on the lesson, craft time, etc.
Time Requirement:
Build a relationship by being a steady buddy to a particular child during a particular service, or be on a monthly rotation schedule – your choice:
1st Service, Sun. am: 8:45 – 10:30 (or the child checks out)
2nd Service, Sun. am: 10:25 – until the child checks out
Wed. night: 6:15 – until the child checks out
Volunteer characteristics & gifting: The successful volunteer will possess patience, a listening ear, and a tender heart for children who struggle as well as the ability to keep confidentiality of situations if necessary. To buddy up with a physically limited child, the ability to lift may be necessary. This person should be comfortable removing the child from the classroom to deal with a given situation if necessary. (This could include listening, providing reassurance, conversation and guidance, locating a parent or another staff member to resolve the situation.) Where needed, training and/or information will be provided. Support will always be provided. Thank you!

Connect Center Host

Ministry Description: Connect Center Hosts provide a winning welcome for One Life guests and regulars. They connect our guests and regulars to the information and materials they need to connect with One Life ministries and outreach opportunities. Guest Follow Up: Cookie Delivery

Ministry Description: Assists in continuing One Life Church’s Winning Welcome by delivering cookies and a warm invitation to return to each guest who fills out a Connect Card during Sunday morning service.

Time requirement: Depending upon the amount of guests weekly and where the guests are located, time per week could be up to 2 hours.

Volunteer characteristics & gifting: Must have a valid driver’s license or be accompanied by someone who does. Friendly and warm personality who can leave a good first impression with others. Gifts of hospitality and encouragement are a plus.

Sunday Morning Worship First Impressions Manager

Ministry Description:
The Sunday Morning Worship First Impressions Manager facilitates the Winning Welcome of One Life Church. This individual helps maintain the organizational structure and presence of the First Impressions Team so that everyone who enters One Life Church feels welcome, wanted and loved. This includes guests, members, regular attendees, children, teens, adults, and seniors.
Time requirement:
Sunday Morning Worship First Impressions Managers will serve on a month on month off rotation.
When One Life Church begins two services, Managers will serve during one service and worship during the alternate service.
Managers shall arrive for ministry on Sundays at 8:30am.
Managers shall stay at their posts until 10 minutes after service starts.

Usher

Ministry Description:
Ushers make everyone who enters One Life Church feel welcome, wanted and loved. This includes guests, members, regular attendees, children, teens, adults, and seniors. Ushers greet individuals at the entrance of the sanctuary, collect the offering, and seat individuals at appropriate times before and during the service.
Time requirement:
Ushers currently serve on a month on month off rotation.
When One Life Church begins two services, Ushers will serve during one service and worship during the alternate service.
Ushers shall arrive for ministry on Sundays at 9:45am.
Ushers are encouraged to sit and participate in the balance of the service after receiving the morning’s tithes and offerings, but shall recognize that they are “on call” to help in various situations should the circumstance arise.
Volunteer characteristics & gifting:
Ability to smile and be genuinely friendly and welcoming to regulars and guests.
Ability to effectively pass offering plates during the designated “offering” time during each Sunday morning service and to do so with the highest degree of integrity in regard to the moneys being collected.

Ministry Description:

Time Requirement:

Ministry Description:

Facilities Manager

Ministry Description:
Skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to general repairs and maintenance, the Facilities Manager oversees all property of One Life Church. Has the ability to see all property from the perspective of a first time guest and proactively coordinates scheduling volunteers and work days to keep grounds looking pristine and assist in other maintenance needs as necessary. This person may also assist in gathering information and making decisions as it relates to larger maintenance/improvement projects.
Time Requirement:
Estimated 2-4 hours monthly; Typically flexible timing; Some availability for meetings prior to One Life events or larger maintenance/improvement projects.

Vehicle Maintenance

Ministry Description:
Ensure the safety of all travelers in One Life Church vans by performing and logging routine safety and mechanical checks and maintenance (oil changes, fluid levels, tire pressure and condition, etc.). Makes sure vehicles have a full tank of fuel, are in good working condition, and are clean prior to each trip. If mechanical work is required for repair, works with local vendors as needed to quote and execute repairs. Provides input and guidance on the purchase of new vehicles.

Congregational Care Coordinator

Ministry Description:
The Congregational Care Coordinator assists One Life Church in providing the ministry of presence and helps to the One Life Church congregation during difficult seasons of life. This individual will coordinate bereavement meals and organize meals for congregants who are in the hospital or whose spouse is in the hospital. This individual will also coordinate meals for families who have experienced the joy of having a new baby enter their family.
Time requirements:
This position’s time requirement varies and is intermittent because of the spontaneity of life events for which congregants experience. A typical funeral meal could require upward of 5 – 8 hours of ministry time spread out between organizing the meal, recruiting additional congregants to bring food, set up for the meal and clean up / tear down afterward.
Volunteer characteristics & gifting: The person who will thrive in this position will need to possess the gift of helps. They will need to possess good organizational skills. They will need to be comfortable speaking with people on the phone and the ability to network with other congregants in the organization of sub teams to help with set up / tear down, etc… They will also need to possess a strong sense of commitment and responsibility. The position also requires that this individual is sensitive to the needs of people, especially in times of grief.

Missions Support

Ministry Description:
Provide support to the One Life Missions Coordinator in various ways such as administrative, planning, communication, etc. Active role in helping coordinate and execute our bi-monthly Be the Church Nights and annual service events such as the Back to School Bash and Free Garage Sale.

Moppets Teachers

Ministry Description:
Moppets is the children’s classes for our MOPS group. MOPS is a ministry to encourage & support Mothers of Preschoolers in their walk with God and in their daily lives. Moppets gives the children a safe place to play & learn while their mothers are meeting. As a church we want to reach our families in our church and families in the community. Our moppets teachers will allow us to reach more moms! Multiple volunteers needed!
Time Requirement:
MOPS and moppets will be meeting the 1st & 3rd Wednesday at One Life Church from September to May, 9:30a-11:45a. Moppets teachers will need to be there 15 min earlier for drop off & will need to stay 15 min later for pick up. A background check will be required.
Volunteer characteristics & gifting: Love moms and want to give them a couple hours to recharge. Our moppets classes will be divided into different age groups; infants, walkers, 2-3, 4-5.

The Lighting Technician serves a vital role in the Worship and Media Ministry. They create moods conducive for worship and teaching moments while eliminating potential distractions. Sunday morning worship service vocalist. Sings and provides worship leadership within the overall scheme of One Life Church’s Praise Band. This position is crucial to the overall cohesiveness of the band and the creation of an atmosphere of inspiring worship during One Life Church worship services
Time requirements:
Sunday Morning Service: 7:45 till 8:45am rehearsal + service(s) + Quarterly “new music” rehearsal (2 hours)
Outside practice time as needed to learn and sing material with competence.
It is expected that all vocalists will stay for the balance of the service in which they are playing.

Volunteer characteristics & gifting:
Ability to sing within the flow and format of a Praise Band Vocal Team.
Ability to sing and hold pitch.
Pleasant timbre / vocal quality.
Ability to sing with confidence in delivery.
Ability to sing by “ear” and from “the notes” a plus.

Previous Experience in Praise Band or Equivalent a plus.

Sunday Morning Worship Pianist

Ministry Description:
Sunday morning worship pianist. Plays and provides melodic and rhythmic leadership within the overall scheme of One Life Church’s Praise Band. Volunteer characteristics & gifting:
Minimum Skill Level of advanced intermediate in multiple styles, tempos, key signatures and time signatures.
Ability to play within the flow of a Praise Band.
Ability to play from a “chord sheet” (lyrics + chords above) a lead sheet (lead vocal line with chord symbol above) and written out piano parts.
Ability to play well as a “lead” instrument, but also as a “fill” instrument when a song is “guitar driven.”
Good practice ethic.
Previous Experience in Praise Band or Equivalent a plus.
Ability to “play well” with others. No diva or rock star attitudes.
Ability to encourage others on the team and especially those whose musical abilities are developing.

Sunday morning worship auxiliary keyboardist. Plays and provides pads, organ sounds, etc within the overall scheme of One Life Church’s Praise Band. This position is crucial to the overall cohesiveness of the band and the creation of an atmosphere of inspiring worship during One Life Church worship services.
Time requirements:
Sunday Morning Service: 7:45 till 8:45am rehearsal + service(s) + Quarterly “new music” rehearsal (2 hours).
Outside practice time as needed to learn and play material with competence.
It is expected that all musicians will stay for the balance of the service in which they are playing.

Ability to play open fifths, fourths and octaves, while also creating parts that fit well within the structure of the piece and the multiple instruments of a Praise Band.

Worship Team

Ministry Description:
There are a number of roles that we are needing filled to help our youth worship team move to the next level. We are currently needing a:
Drummer
Bass player
Electric guitar
Keyboards
It’s no surprise that music is a key component of teens lives in this day and age. As we look to grow our youth group and reach new youth for Christ, it is imperative that we have a worship team that is dynamic and attractive that allows our current group to get excited and passionate about worship. This is also necessary in order to help those we are wanting to reach know that current worship music can be exciting, dynamic and life transforming.
Time requirements: These roles would roughly take 12-14 hours a month with practice and actual worship services on a Wednesday evening.
Volunteer characteristics & gifting: Need to be able to play these instruments in a proficient enough way that it helps the overall sound and worship experience.
